Autonagar Surya is a 2014 Telugu film directed by Deva Katta. The film, which is said to be a political thriller film, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha paired up for the third time for this movie and are in lead role starring Madhu Singampally and Sai Kumar in pivotal roles. K. Atchi Reddy produced the movie on Max India Productions banner. Anoop Rubens composed the music for the film.

  • Story Line:

The film is set in 1980's. At a very young age, Surya (Naga Chaitanya) looses his parents in an train incident, and grows up in the motor field area of Auto Nagar. The entire area is in under the control of a mayor (Madhu) and his gang comprising of Jaya Prakaash Reddy and Ajay.Being a talented mechanic, Surya decides to build a vehicle which runs independently on battery and create a huge revolution in the motor field. As soon as he starts working on his project, he finds out that the complete area including the workers union is under the powerful mayor and his gang. part of the story is how Surya, being a common man deals against the system, and becomes the famous Auto Nagar Surya and how he meets his lady love and their on-screen romance is a must watch.
With improved acting skills Naga Chaitanya had done a Flawless job in the movie.Young actor Nandu, does a superb job as Chaitanya’s friend. He too has a vital role, and does justice. The entire premise, and the way the story had been set up in Auto Nagar, will nicely connect with the common audience.


 Drawbacks:

  • Run time of the film is way too long.
  • Second half starts with a disappointing song on Brahmanandam. yet another item song comes out of no relation and spoils the entire fun.
  • Climax is little weak with too much of violence and can be predictable. 
  • Samantha's role is less in the movie.

Final Words: 

 The film starts in a much promising way but goes down badly during the second half. Naga Chaitanya’s performance is a plus.
