Girl Cheated in 'Casting Trap'

Hyderabad: A young girl from mumbai, who dreamt of becoming an actress, came straight away crossing hundreds of kilometres from home, In Secunderabad on Thursday, a 25-year-old model from Mumbai was drugged and robbed by a man claiming to be a film recruiter from Telugu Film Industry. The victim even agreed to a haircut and makeover when the man showed her some photos of the look “directors were looking for”.
The victim was picked up from the airport on July 4 by the agent, who introduced himself as Raj, and was given accommodation at a hotel in Karkhana. After several days of delay, during which the accused kept postponing her meet with producers, the model was restless and said  wanted to go back to Mumbai.
But on the way to Secunderabad railway station, on Thursday, the agent is believed to have mixed narcotics in a beverage and robbed jewellery and Rs 19,000 cash. The victim says once she regained consciousness she found herself at the railway station, Experts are warning youngsters to be safe from casting calls. it's always recmmended you come along with your family or friends. 
Director Teja said with share of rules and regulations. “I often use social media to find new talent. And when I do test candidates, I make sure I have all the details like as addresses, relevant phone numbers and if the candidate has approached me through an agent, there’s also a check on how they got to meet him.” It is always recommended to do a little background check, before trusting a person,” Teja adds. 

The police has launched a manhunt to catch the fake agent who tricked the model. Officials are confident they will find the culprit.
