Andhra Pradesh CM seeks 1 lakh Crore Rs for states Vision.
The government of Andhra Pradesh on Friday filed a higher share in Central taxes for states, Around Rs 1 lakh crore from the Finance Commission as special grant for building a new capital.

“By 2022, we want to make AP as one of the top 3 developed states and wish to make it number 1 state in the country by 2029. I ask the Finance Commission to create a separate dispensation for Andhra Pradesh because of bifurcation,” Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu told the Finance Commission.

A four-member team led by former RBI governor Dr Y. Venugopal Reddy was appointed as the Finance Commission. N.Chandrababu Naidu asked for a higher share of 50 per cent for states from central taxes. Currently all states together get 32 per cent of central taxes from the shareable sum. The share will be distributed among individual states on the basis of population and other circumstances. A state with higher population will have a lower per capita income, and hence it get's more financial aid from the central gov.

“considering all the views, AP may be granted Rs 1,00,213 crore during the next five years, so as the state can build a modern capital city,” he explained. He also added Rs 40,000 crore for the development of backward regions of Rayalaseema and northern coastal Andhra.

“The states are denied to access natural resources by offshore drilling as such activities show severe impact on the infrastructure".
