Andhra Pradesh to get soon DD Kendra at Vijayawada.
New Delhi: Post-bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh is all set to get its Doordarshan Kendra at Vijayawada by the end of this month.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today said a Doordarshan Kendra would be inaugurated at Vijayawada on 27th September. There will be Doordarshan Kendras, One based at Hyderabad for Telangana and another to function from Vijayawada for seemandhra, which is the capital region of Andhra Pradesh.
"It would be inaugurated on September 27, in which Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would be seen," Asked about the name of the new channel, he said that DD Andhra Pradesh would continue to function as DD Saptagiri,
Javadekar said the AIR News Services Division's free news SMS service in five languages - Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, Dogri and Nepali. SMS service was aimed at providing important news to the subscribers in their preferred language on their mobile phones.
