The screening of films to select India's nomination for the Best foreign language film category in the Oscars 2015 has begun in Hyderabad and a 'secret jury' will pick the nomination.

When the Gujarati film 'The Good Road' directed by Gyan Correa was selected by a Film Federation of India (FFI) panel, a controversy erupted. 'The Lunchbox' director Ritesh Batra who expected his film to be picked openly criticized the FFI over the decision.

The film's producer Anurag Kashyap too had said he had lost faith in the Film Federation of India when it came to selecting a film to be sent as India's nomination for the Oscars. Dasgupta said in all probability the process of watching all the 30 entries may be completed by September 23 or 24 and the announcement about the selection would be made on one of those days.

Telugu film 'Minugurulu' is the official selection of the A P Film Chamber of Commerce sent for consideration by the FFI. Another film 'Manam' is also among the films vying for selection. It is said that Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Mary Kom' is also in the race to be picked.
